His second son, Joseph was recorded with the surname spelling of Tourlamain on August 3rd 1848. The first recorded spelling of the family name is shown to be that of Samuel Tout - le - Monde, which was dated 1601, Threadneedle Street, French Church, London, during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, 'Good Queen Bess', 1558 - 1603.
