The first recorded spelling of the family name is shown to be that of Jane Beadon, (parents not recorded). which was dated 1557, christened on the 30th October at Wordbury Church, near Exeter, Devon, during the reign of Queen Mary, 'Bloody Mary', 1554 - 1558.
